For schools

Personal reading support beyond the classroom.

We're developing an AI tutor for beginning readers that schools can introduce to families for use at home. The first release is intended to support K–2 reading practice, with parents opting in and school partnerships developing alongside the product.

Support practice at home.

Teachers already know what beginning readers need: explicit instruction, then lots of practice with feedback. PrimerBot is designed to give every child that time at home, with an AI tutor that adapts to what each child needs next.

How school-sponsored home use works

  1. Your school invites families.

You send the invitation, and you never share a roster with us.

  2. Parents opt in.

Each family creates its own account and gives consent.

  3. Children learn at home.

Short sessions, about 10 minutes, led by PrimerBot and adapted to each child.

  4. Families see what comes next.

After every session, parents see what their child practiced, the hints they used, and what PrimerBot plans to teach next.

By default, schools don't receive child-level data. Any reporting is agreed in advance and requires parent consent.

The learning map

Help families understand the next step.

Each child's path through them is their own. PrimerBot finds where a child is on the map, teaches what they need next, and moves on when a child shows the skill without an in-app hint.

  1. Sounds and letters

Linking letters to the sounds they make. Your child says sounds aloud, and PrimerBot listens and decides what to teach next.

  2. Blending and decoding

Putting sounds together to read words, including brand-new words read with no hints.

  3. Words to stories

Reading short stories built only from the sounds a child has learned.

  4. Understanding

A simple question after each story, so reading is about meaning, not just sounds.

PrimerBot is supplemental: it complements your core phonics instruction. It isn't a screener or diagnostic, and it needs no teacher setup. The curriculum is informed by research and expert guidance, and the AI creates lessons for each child.

How we work with schools

Start small. Review together. Grow in stages.

Every partnership begins with a pilot your families opt into, and expands only when the results are reviewed with you.

  1. Discovery

We learn your goals, grades, families, and data requirements, and you review our curriculum, privacy terms, and product.

  2. A parent-opt-in pilot

Your school invites families in the K–2 grades you choose. Each parent chooses whether to join and gives consent.

  3. A shared review

Together we look at what we measured, in aggregate: how many children took part, how much help they had, what they did on their own, and what didn't work.

  4. Staged rollout

If the pilot earns it, we expand by grade and campus, one stage at a time.

  5. Ongoing partnership

A signed data agreement, named support contacts, and regular check-ins for as long as we work together.

Student data privacy

Built for your district's privacy review.

PrimerBot is designed to meet the student privacy requirements schools work under, and we'll put our commitments in writing.

FERPA

No education records needed1

Families sign up and consent directly, and we never receive rosters. If your school shares student information, we work under FERPA's school-official requirements and your direct control.

COPPA

Verifiable parental consent2

Designed around verifiable parental consent before any child uses PrimerBot, following the FTC's amended COPPA Rule.

State laws

State student privacy laws34

Designed to meet state student privacy laws, such as California's SOPIPA and Arizona's student data privacy law: no targeted ads, no selling data, and no profiles for non-school purposes.

Agreements

Your data privacy agreement5

We will sign your district's data privacy agreement, including the Student Data Privacy Consortium's National Data Privacy Agreement (NDPA).

Security

Written security practices

A written security program, data retention schedule, and incident response plan, shared with your team for review before any partnership begins.

Your review

Your vendor review, not our badges

We complete your district's vendor and privacy review, and we don't claim certifications we don't hold.
